At a media briefing held on 19 July 2013 the Kyustendil Regional Information Centre (RIC) presented the implementation
of the operational programmes on a national and regional level as well as
information on the 2013 operations of the Centre.
The data provided by the Unified Management Information System of the EU
Structural Instruments in Bulgaria (UMIS) indicates that as of 4
July 2013 there are 141 contracts concluded in the District of Kyustendil worth a total of BGN 173 371 360, out of
which the grant amount is BGN 158 478 378. The number of the
beneficiaries under these contracts is 65, and the completed projects are

there was an uptrend in the number of beneficiaries, who had entered in more
than one contracts under operational programmes.
During the meeting the team of Kyustendil RIC also summarized the activities
performed by the Centre since the beginning of the year. "A total of 520 participants were involved in
the awareness raising events held by us in the 9 municipalities in the
District of Kyustendil since the beginning of 2013. In this period we organized and held 20 information meetings and 7 visits to schools on the
territory of Kyustendil District. Representatives of municipal administrations, of the business, of community
cultural centres, non-governmental organizations, of the broad public and the media took part
in these events", announced the experts from Kyustendil RIC and underscored that there
was an increase in the number of questions addressed to the Centre compared to the 2012 level.
The number of the queries received by Kyustendil RIC since the beginning of 2013 is over 300, and the Centre continues to report that they
spell out greatest interest in the Energy
Renovation of Bulgarian Homes Project, financed under Operational Programme Regional Development. Other of the most frequent questions addressed
to Kyustendil RIC concern the options for the business community to
apply for amounts from the EU funds and the opportunities offered by the Human Resources Development Operational Programme.
During the meeting with the media the experts from the Kyustendil Regional Information Centre also provided detailed information on two
initiatives currently underway: The contest for a single logo and a slogan (message) of the EU funds in Bulgaria in the
period 2014-2020 and the Lessons Learnt Campaign, which is a large-scale survey
among the beneficiaries under the operational programmes in Bulgaria.
The experts of Kyustendil RIC also conveyed the information that the team of
the Centre planned to conduct a series of events until the end of this year so as to
promote the new programming period and to present best practices from
projects implemented under the operational programmes in the 2007-2013 period, as well as to issue a
collection of best practices from the District of Kyustendil.
