On May 8th 2012 at the meeting room of Pernik Municipality the first meeting took place on the following topic: "Presentation of District Information Point - Pernik and opportunities for project financing by European Funds". This is the start of a series of information meetings that the DIP shall conduct in all municipalities on the territory of Pernik District.
Rositsa Yanakieva, Mayor of the Pernik Municipality, officially opened the forum and underlined that the Information Point is not only of municipal importance but it is necessary at district level and is created to inform all the interested institutions from the region. The manager of the project under which the DIP is created (Ivan Iskrenov) presented to over 50 representatives of institutions, schools, mayors, businessmen, NGOs and journalists the team of DIP - Pernik. Information was also provided for implementation and progress of project.
Elena Tsolova, the DIP"s Manager, presented the activity of the office, its functions and aims. DIP- Pernik, as part of the structure of 27 District Information Points in Bulgaria, provides a wide range of information, communication, expert and logistics services to all the stakeholders: information about the opportunities for financing projects under currently active procedures for financial grants, general and specific information for national and European strategic programmes and programme documents, active Operational Programmes performed in the Republic of Bulgaria.
The DIP"s team shall work on promulgation of best practices from implemented projects on the territory of the district with a view to exchange of information between current and future beneficiaries and with the purpose of better use of European funds.
By the end of the year District Information Point shall organize 23 information meetings on various topics and the main emphases will be the currently open procedures.
A presentation for the Structural and Cohesion Funds of EU provided by Mila Krasteva, expert in European projects, informed the attendees about the Cohesion Policy.
