On November 7th 2012 District Information Point-Pernik has started the forth cycle of information meetings aimed at promoting the EU Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund and the funding opportunities for project proposals under the Operational Programmes, implemented by the Republic of Bulgaria. The topic of the cycle is "Key documents and priorities of the new programming period 2014-2020. Sharing of good practices."
The first municipality of Pernik Region visited by the DIP's experts was Municipality of Tran. The event was attended by the mayor of the municipality Mr. Stanislav Nikolov, representative of the municipal administration and citizens.
Stoyan Yotov, an expert in European Funds presented the priorities of the new programming period 2014-2020 making a brief flashback of what happened so far. "Bulgaria will try to get BGN 17 billion and the amount together with the co-financing will exceed BGN 20 billion. It is very important by the end of the current programming period to absorb in maximum the EU Funds in order to be able to justify the request for a new higher funding".
Representatives of municipal administration said that the topic of the event is not only а question of present interest but interesting and useful. Citizens who attended the meeting questioned with embarrassment whether in the new programming period are provided jobs for the people in small towns and less developed areas. "For all of us the temporary employment programmes are the only chance of living". Human Resources Development Operational Programme will operate and in the future and will be targeted mainly at people and their work, said Yotov.
The expert in Information Support and Services in DIP-Pernik Milen Stanimirov presented good practices of completed projects of other municipalities. „Our goal is ideas and experience to be shared and thus to be achieved higher results and realization of the project ideas" said Stanimirov.
"New job" was the current procedure presented at the meeting and the forthcoming one was "On the road". Both procedures are financed by the Human Resources Development Operational Programme and aimed at employers, business representatives and non-governmental organizations.
District Information Point-Pernik, as a part of the network of 28 information points was established under a project of Municipality of Pernik and financed under Contract BG161РО002-3.3.02-00026-С0001 of Technical Assistance Operational Programme, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
