Spiritual Leaders Day-November 1st was celebrated with the announcement of the results and awarding the winners of the drawing competition on "How I Want European Union to Change My Town". The initiative is under the auspices of the Minister of EU Funds Management Tomislav Donchev. The sponsor of the competition is the Central Information and Coordination Office at the Administration of the Council of Ministers and all 27 District Information Points (DIP).
The event was held at the office of DIP-Pernik. Special guests of the event were a group of preschool children from kindergarten Minyorche-Pernik, who greeted parents, teachers, little artists and representatives of the media attending the event with performance of songs and dances.
The start of the drawing competition was the beginning of the school year-September 17 when the Manager of DIP-Pernik Elena Tsolova called children with words: "Dear children, show us in your paintings how do you want to look your city, so we, the adults to see your dreams and help you to make them real and the city to be made a better place for living, a city with an European dimension".
And the children from Pernik Region began to paint. Some of them even sent more than one drawing. They wanted to show their world through the prism of a child's imagination. The drawings were focused on the future until year 3500. Skyscrapers reaching space, ultra modern cars, but most of all sunshine, clean sky and lots of nature presented in the drawings.
At the office of DIP-Pernik were registered 13 drawings. All children who participated received prizes and the winner was awarded a special prize-MP3 player.
On October 22nd three-member committee of eminent artists from city of Pernik rated the works of the young artists. "The jury was extremely difficult to choose the best of all presented woks, said Mrs. Elena Temelkova, member of the jury and Director of the Art Galery-Pernik. She greeted the audience and awarded the winners of the both age groups: David Ivanov Yonov-10 years and Deyan Yasenov Grigorov - 11 years. Both of them are students in the School of Fine Art at OC Palace of Culture-Pernik. Their works will be sent to the second round of the competition, where all regional winners will compete nationally.
