On August 29, 2012 on a meeting for proactive work with the media District Information Point-Pernik presented new funding opportunities provided by the Operational Programmes.
Mr. Zhecho Zhechev, an expert in European projects drew the attention of the participants on the grant award procedures which are open for municipalities, institutions, the business and the citizens of Pernik Region.
Among the presented procedure was "Support for Regional Tourism Product Development and Marketing of Destinations II" under Regional Development Operational Programme (RDOP) targeted toward all Bulgarian municipalities and aimed at differentiating tourist regions, modeling of common tourism product and implementation of regional marketing and advertising. Basic application requirement is the partnership of at least two municipalities.
Another procedure that might be of interest to Municipality of Pernik is "Green and Accessible Town Environment". Activities eligible for financing are: construction and rehabilitation of public recreation areas, construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation of walkways and sidewalks, construction of bike paths, pedestrian areas, underpasses for pedestrians and cyclists, building of playgrounds in the spaces between the blocks, rehabilitation and reconstruction of street networks, building of public car parks, introduction of energy-efficient street lighting, etc.
The Manager of District Information Point-Pernik Mrs. Elena Tsolova presented the current procedures under Operational Programme "Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy" focusing the recently open Energy Efficiency and Green Economy scheme. The main goal of the procedure is to contribute for increasing economic efficiency and competitiveness of the enterprises through the implementation of energy-efficient production technologies and introduction of renewable energy sources, application of technologies for reducing the energy intensity of production, as well as measures improving the business processes and energy management.
Citizens can benefit from the open procedures under Human Resources Development Operational Programme and particularly from the scheme "Encouraging Commencement of Projects for Development of People's Own Business: the DIP's experts said to the media that at their office is registered increased interest in that particular procedure.
District Information Point-Pernik was established under a project of Municipality of Pernik and financed under Contract BG161РО002-3.3.02-00026-С0001 of Technical Assistance Operational Programme, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
