Single Information Web Portal

Elena Tzolova - Manager of Regional Information Centre - Pernik participate in the joint meeting of the Regional Development Council and South West Regional Coordinating Committee of the Board. She presented a summary of the implementation of operational programs in the South West Region. The total of the signed contracts for projects funded by the OP in southwestern Bulgaria are 1930, performed by 1374 beneficiaries, totaling 5,320,960,552 BGN. Undisputed leader for absorption of EU funds is the Capital City with a total of 1222 contracts totaling 3,376,118,240 BGN. Ranked second is Blagoevgrad with 231 contracts worth of 294,731,077 BGN Most EU funds were provided by "Transport" Operational Program totaling 2,984,225,891 BGN for 50 projects, followed by the Operational Program "Environment" - 968121925 BGN, and Operational Program "Regional Development" - 592204646 BGN . Highest activity was registered under the "Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy" Operational Program under which 869 contracts were signed for the implementation of projects from 771 beneficiaries from Southwest Bulgaria. Ranked second is "Human Resources Development" Operational Program with 665 contracts performed by 566 beneficiaries. Under criterion "Committed funds per capita" the honorary first place is occupied by Sofia and Kyustendil - 8th position, Blagoevgrad - 14th, Pernik - 24th. "In the beginning of September 2012 we had a similar ranking but with criterion "Payments per capita", in which Pernik District was ranked second with the prestigious 288,80 BGN", added Tzolova.
