An awareness-raising meeting with representatives of the business community and of supporting organisations was conducted by the Razgrad District Information Point.
The participants in the event familiarised themselves with the terms and conditions for application with project proposals on the recently announced grant procedure "Adopting innovations in the enterprises" under the Operational Programme "Competitiveness". Some key parts from the application guidelines were considered: the elements of the procedure, the eligibility criteria of the applicants, the kinds of regimes of State aids, the eligible activities and expenditures, the deadlines for application and implementation of the projects. Under this procedure, micro-, small, medium and large companies may be granted from 100 000 to 3 000 000 Bulgarian leva (i.e. 50%-90%) grant for implementation of projects, through which they should introduce some innovative products (goods or services) and processes in their business activities, whereby they would improve their efficiency and competitiveness. The total amount of the gratuitous financing under the procedure for the country comes to 45 000 000 euros.
The DIP team reminded that until the end of October 2013 continues the collection of project proposals under another procedure, too, which is the "Energy Efficiency and Green Economy" procedure under the same Operational Programme. The conditions for participation in the procedure, the eligible activities and expenditures, the kinds of projects and the role of the six banks involved in the procedure were also commented on.
There was also information on the procedure for the grant "Technological modernisation of small and medium enterprises" due to be announced until the end of the subsequent month, i.e. June.
Those present were also familiarised with the JEREMIE Initiative and for the low-interest credits offered to small and medium businesses in the country.
At the discussion following the meeting, it became clear that the information provided provoked the participants' interest. They asked specific questions related to their ideas for project proposals.
