On 30 and 31 May 2013, in the Hungarian capital Budapest took place the 11th formal meeting of the members of the INFORM network of the European Commission's (EC) Regional policy General Directorate.   The INFORM network's efforts focus enhancing and facilitation of contacts between the employees engaged in information and publicity related to the European Union's policy of rapprochement. The event was attended by representatives of EC's Regional policy General Directorate and employees in charge of publicity and awareness of the Operational Programmes in the EU Member States.   Bulgaria was presented by Ms Petya Atanasova, State expert in the Information and EU Funds Management Systems Directorate at the Administration of the Council of Ministers, and Ms Borislava Mladenova, Chief Expert in the Managing Authority of the Competitiveness Operative Programme.   Mr Yuliyan Danailov, Manager of the Razgrad District Information Point and Mr. Velizar Petrov, manager of the Plovdiv DIP represented the network of Provincial information points for popularisation of the EU Cohesion Policy in Bulgaria.   Within the framework the event a great number of approaches and practices from implemented information initiatives and campaigns were presented related to the application of the Structural and the Cohesion Funds in the EU Member States in the period 2007-2013. Some achieved qualitative and quantitative results were specified from info-initiatives in various Operational Programmes in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Hungary, Malta, etc. The network of 28 information points in Bulgaria was presented after nearly a year and a half of practical activity. The challenges faced by the informational networks in the new 2014-2020 programming period were discussed. The participants visited renovated sites in Budapest co-financed by European funds.
