35 young people aged under 29 joined the forum dedicated to youth employment organised by the Ruse District Information Point. Part of them are apprentices in the Municipality of Ruse assigned under the Human Resources Development Operational Programme. The youth guarantee is to come into force as of 1 January 2014 and provoked considerable interest among the participants. According to it, each graduate of a school or university, who, within a term of 4 months, has not managed to find themselves a job, should be offered a job offer or an apprenticeship or qualifications offer.
Days ago, the EU set in their combat against youth unemployment budget, which is in approximately 6-8 billion euros. The yet unspecified sum is to be allocated in the countries and regions where youth unemployment is the highest. According to some preliminary calculation, Bulgaria will receive nearly 100 mln euros to cope with youth unemployment in the next few years.
Young people from Ruse wanted to know whether there were any other apprenticeship programmes planned to possibly use in future. Part of them like their work in the administration and would like to continue to be part of the teams of the relevant units.
The grant schemes providing vouchers and financial instruments which are set as possible sources of financing projects under the Innovations and Competitiveness Operational Programme after 2014 were also interesting to the audience.
On 9 July 2013, at 10 a.m., in the common hall called Galeria Academia of the National Academy of Arts in Sofia a public discussion will be held, the topic being "The Young Have the Word".
The discussion was initiated by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Ms Zinaida Zlatanova. You may find details at the event website in Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/events/330371507094035/.
