Teachers and students from the Sliven College and the Sliven Faculty at the Sofia Technical University familiarised themselves with the terms and conditions for application under the project „Apprenticeships and Traineeships for Students". That happened during today's awareness-raising meeting organised by the Sliven District Information Point, in which participated over 50 representatives from the higher education institution. The project "Apprenticeships and Traineeships for Students" is being implemented by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science under the Operational Programme "Development of Human Resources" in partnership with all the 51 higher educational institutions in Bulgaria. All students may apply for Apprenticeships and Traineeships subject to their being registered as regular or extra-mural, they must be entered into the Register of current and suspended students and PhD students maintained by the MES. An Apprenticeship or Traineeship is considered as successfully finished if it was conducted in real work environment and its duration was at least 240 hours. Training is delivered either individually or in groups by an employee who represents the employer and who is the mentor, while in the case of apprenticeship that employee must be a teacher from the higher educational institution: an academic tutor. Each student is entitled to join Apprenticeships and Traineeships in real work environment only once within his/her training in order to acquire his/her status of Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree. For the purposes of implementation and management of the overall process of implementation of Apprenticeships and Traineeships for Students, a web based system has been created. Job applications and job announcements may be made/sought at: http://praktiki.mon.bg.
