Representatives of community centres active in the territory of the Municipality of Sliven were familiarised with the terms and conditions and the steps for application under the project "Energy Renovation of Bulgarian Homes". That happened at an informational meeting organised by the Sliven District Information Point, which took place on this 31 May. The participants of the meeting familiarised themselves with the amended conditions under the project: increased amount of the grant for the owners of homes up to 75%, an established financing mechanism for owners in difficult material circumstances to 100%, a prolonged project implementation period. The representatives of community centres from town of Sliven stated that they would share and disseminate the information received in connection with projects for Energy Renovation of Bulgarian Homes among their visitors and invited the Sliven DIP team members to visit them and organise similar meetings with owners of homes in the individual neighbourhoods of the town. One more project was presented at the meeting and that was the "Household aid" project financed under the Operational Programme "Human Resources Development" where the beneficiary is the Municipality of Sliven, which started this 1 February. The Project Manager, Ms Maria Todorova, informed those present that to date a selection of 36 household aids had been made, which aids would attend over 80 persons with permanent disabilities who are either partially or entirely unable to attend to themselves, old people who are either partially or entirely unable to attend to themselves, and children in the territory of the Municipality of Sliven. The social services delivered to the users would typically include: routine cleansing of living premises inhabited by the persons cared for; maintenance of personal hygiene; meals; medical-social services: assistance in medication taking, accompaniment to a children's, educational or medical treatment (hospital) establishment; household services: purchasing foodstuffs, hygiene material (users are charged for that), etc. The project amounts to a total of 232 899 BGN and its implementation period expires on 01.06.2014.
