In accordance with the regulations of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, on the 30th of May 2022 the Managing Authority of Operational Programme on Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020 (OPTTI) has sent the 2021 Annual Implementation Report to the European Commission for review and approval.

The EC authorities has approved the document on 20th of July 2022.

In accordance with the regulations of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, the Managing Authority of Operational Programme on “Transport and Transport Infrastructure”, 2014-2020 (OPTTI) has sent the Annual Implementation Report for 2021 to the European Commission for review and approval. 

Prior to this, the Monitoring Committee of OPTTI has approved it.

The Annual Reports and The Final Report for the implementation of OPTTI, as well as the Citizens’ Summaries, are published officially.

The funds paid from the budget of OP “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” 2014-2020 currently are at the amount of EUR 1.09 billion, which is 62 % of the total resource of the Programme. The lowest absorption rate has been recorded for the railway projects — 33 %. This became clear during the regular meeting of the Monitoring Committee of OPTTI 2014-2020, which took place on 11-12th of May 2022 in Sofia.

The new non-self-propelled shalan, part of the dredging equipment of the Danube River Exploration and Maintenance Executive Agency, arrived in Ruse. The facility, with a length of 59.5 metres and a width of 9.7 metres, was built at the ATG Giurgiu Shipyard in Romania.  Its maximum draught is 2.35 meters. The value of Shalan is BGN 1 954 000 excluding VAT. It is designed to load the elevated masses when deepening or correcting the riverbed in critical sections of the Danube.

The new pontoon, which will be part of the dredging equipment of the Danube River Exploration and Maintenance Executive Agency, arrived in Ruse. The facility was built at ATG Giurgiu Shipyard in Romania. The pontoon is 34.5 meters long, 11.4 meters wide and is designed for loading dredging tables of two Shalans through a floating pipeline. Its value is BGN 2 345 000.

The construction of the longest two-pipe railway tunnel, built so far in Bulgaria and at the Balkans, has started today. The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov launched the construction works for a project for the modernisation of the railway section Elin Pelin-Vakarel. The site is part of the main railway highway in the direction East - West and is one of the extremely important for Bulgaria and neighboring countries European Corridor No. 8 and the passing TEN-T Network in our country.

Development of intermodal links, introduction of traffic management and safety improvement intelligent transport systems, as well as the construction of key road and rail sections in the country are part of the priorities of Program on "Transport Connectivity" 2021-2027 (PTC 2021-2027), which is due to be sent for approval to the European Commission. The projects were presented to the stakeholders during an on-line meeting today, organized by the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.
