The modernization of the railway station of Kazichene has began today. This is the third key Sofia station, part of the project “Reconstruction of Poduyane, Iskar and Kazichene Railway Station Complexes”, which is being funded by the Operational Programme “Transport and Transport Infrastructure“ 2014-2020.

Bulgaria withdraws the application form for the construction of the Struma Motorway through the Kresna Gorge, but continues to regard the project as a priority and does not abandon it. The decision does not stop it, but accelerates the team work of all institutions involved in extending the only bottleneck along the border to Greece. Today, the Bulgarian side informed the European Commission of its decision to withdraw the application form for Lot 3.2 funding from the EU Cohesion Fund, which was submitted for approval on 9 August 2019.

The Minister of Environment and Water Mr. Neno Dimov and the Chief Commissioner Mr. Nikolay Nikolov signed an agreement aiming towards the optimization of the processes of prevention, preparedness and response to natural disasters. The project will be carried out by the Directorate-General for Fire Safety and Population Protection (GDBZN) - Ministry of the Interior and is fully funded by the OP "Environment 2014-2020". The investment is BGN 20 million and the project implementation period is 48 months.

The Minister of Environment and Water Mr. Neno Dimov signed an agreement for the conservation of three bat species in Kardzhali. The event was attended by the mayor of the municipality Mr. Hassan Ismail and Mr. Latif Rasim - chairman of the board of the Stambolovo-Kardzhali Local Initiative Group (LAG) 54.

The Minister of Environment and Water Mr. Neno Dimov, the Mayor of Haskovo Municipality Mr. Stanislav Dechev and the Manager of Trolleybus Transport Ltd. Mr. Yordan Panev signed an agreement for purchasing of municipal public electric transport. The total investment is BGN 6 million. The Operational Program "Environment 2014-2020"provides BGN 5 million.

The Minister of Environment and Waters Mr. Neno Dimov, the Mayor of Sliven Municipality Mr. Stefan Radev and the Manager of Public Transport Ltd. Mr. Encho Petrov signed a contract for the renewal of public transport in the municipality.

The project is funded by Operational Program Environment 2014-2020 (OPE). The total investment is BGN 13.2 million. OPE will provide BGN 11 million.

It is necessary to make a conservative estimate of what can be done in the current programme period and to decide on the financing of the implementation of the activities concerned in the following period. This is what Galina Vasileva, Head of the Managing Authority of the OP Transport and Transport Infrastructure OP 2014-2020, has said at the meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the programme held on  25-26th of November in Bansko.

The Minister of Environment and Water Mr. Neno Dimov, the Mayor of Pleven Mr. George Spartansky and the Manager of Trolleybus Transport EOOD Mr.Angel Nestorov have signed an agreement for provision of public electric transport in the municipality of Pleven.

The project is funded by the Operational Program Environment 2014-2020 (OPE). The total amount of the investment is BGN 18 million. OPE provides BGN 15 million.

The Ministry of Environment and Water and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works have signed an agreement for support of regional investment planning in the water and sewerage sector. The agreed amount is BGN 22.8 million and it is covered by Operational Program Environment 2014-2020 (OPE).

The construction contract for the complete rehabilitation of the “Orizovo-Mihaylovo” railway section, part of the project “Rehabilitation of the Plovdiv-Burgas railway line, Phase 2”, co-financed by the Cohesion Fund through the Operational Programme “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” 2014-2020, has been signed today.

The entire section is 37 km long out of which the bigger part of the double-directions railway track will be constructed over a new route and will allow train speed up to 160 km/h.
